I had a law professor who was a retired attorney from New York.  One of his famous sayings was "Make the suckers pay!"  Although the saying sounds a bit rough, his sentiment was heartfelt.  He believed that accountants did not charge for their services what they were really worth in comparison to attorneys. According to the Department of Labor, the employment of accountants and auditors is projected to grow 4% between 2019 and 2029.  The employment growth of accountants and auditors is closely tied to the health of the overall economy.  As the economy grows, more accountants and auditors should be needed to prepare and examine financial records.
